Motorcycles Online 600 class shoot-out

Every one the testers declared the Daytona 675 the winner and bike they were most likely to buy with their own money:

". . .if I were gonna lay down my not-so-hard-earned money on a new 600-or-so-cc track tool, I'd have to gather $9000 worth of sterling pounds and trot on over to my local Triumph dealer. The 675 is so sexy, so competent and carries such a tremendous buzz factor that it's the no-brainer pick of this fine litter"

"Why would I buy a 2006 Triumph Daytona 675, rather than all the great bikes which the big boys (Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha) are offering for 2006? Simply put, it's the entire riding experience; the look, the sound, the feel, the ease of use, and the incredibly high grin factor that this bike creates."

"After riding the R6, CBR600RR, ZX6R, GSXR600, and the 675, I have to say that the Triumph is in a class all it's own."

"If I was in the market to buy a middleweight sportbike (they all cost about the same), there is no doubt in my mind that I would buy the Triumph Daytona 675 before ever considering anything else."

"It offers everything we love about middleweight supersports, plus more useable torque and a sound not unlike a Honda CBX or even a flat-twelve Ferrari. I think it may well be the perfect sport bike."

“It's pure, it's art, it's a classic.  Put your name down for one. Now.”

Not many motorcycles are genuinely mould-breaking but the Daytona 675 Triple is definitely one of them.

As the first three-cylinder super sports middleweight, the Daytona 675 is a force to be reckoned with in the most hotly contested arena in motorcycling. The Daytona 675 has won countless comparison tests and for the past two years has taken both the MasterBike and Supertest ‘King of the Supersport’ crowns. With its exciting, powerful engine and intuitive, razor sharp chassis the Daytona 675 has reinvented the supersports middleweight map. The Daytona IS incomparable.

Designed around the Daytona 675’s engine the spars of the fabricated, open-back, aluminum cast frame wrap over the top of the motor, accentuating further the benefits of the narrow three-cylinder design. The upside-down front forks and piggy-back rear are fully adjustable for spring preload and rebound and compression damping. The front brakes use a radial master cylinder as well as twin radial four-piston calipers, while the new wheels are a lightweight five-spoke design.

With the Daytona 675 Triumph aimed to create an exciting bike that owners will never tire of owning and, above all else, riding. It sits within a class of one, delivering an incredible performance with its exciting, powerful engine and intuitive, razor-sharp chassis. It also looks and sounds like nothing else. All quite deliberate and driven by a single, solitary word that underpinned the whole concept; ‘incomparable’.

Title: 675 Review
Review: My name is Ted Prior, the goofy looking skinny fellow who was the first to place a deposit down on the new 675 at Pure Triumph. I took delivery of the beast on the 28th of Feb. Missed the delivery by three days of my 21st Birthday...ha Anyways what can I say, the bike is beyond what I had hoped for. Simply amazing machine to ride. So light and nimble, flicks from side to side with such ease and grace, motor is simply mind blowing. The bike seems to never stop pulling. And those radial's damn they are powerful. Only 1 finger is needed to slow this bad boy, (well maybe two to be on the safe side!)Couldnt have made a better choice for a bike in '06. Just want to give a thanks to the entire staff at Pure Triumph up there, for putting up with all my crap. You guys have given me nothing but the utmost professionalism. With out you guys I would not be enjoying my beauty 675 as I am right now. Thanks again guys, you're very first customer. Ted Prior

Title: My first bike
Review: I just bought the 2007 tornado red daytona 675 and i am loving it. Ive been riding my friends F4i for a while before this one and the triumph blew it away by a long run. The one thing that bothers me is a clicking noise in the front ent and i can not tell what it is yet. I wanted to thank everybody at Triumph because this is a great bike.

Title: One of many....above all others
Review: I bought mine from someone who bought it from Pure Triumph. I flew into Ft. Laud' and the owner picked me up for the zip to Miami. I gave him the check and headed up I-95 back to North Carolina. I'm 44 y/o and thought this would be a love it or leave it ride (850miles on a pure super sport!). I've ridden since I was 8 y/o. dirt bikes, trials bikes, Interceptors (Honda), Yammy FZ6, Ducati ST3, BMW K1200LT. This triple fits into no previously described niche'. The way it wails when you flog it, gives me the shivvers, stock exhaust? I'll get an aftermarket for it once the hair goes down on the back of my neck. I figured I'd start off easy and get used to it's limitless cornering. Ha! right off when you point these Pirelli's into a corner they ask for more line, more speed, more LEAN! I did go into an intersection too hot, got cut off by a truck and trailer, hit a pot hole and lost the front... result....low side and badly broken collar bone. Frame sliders did their job, nothing bent or broken on the bike, slight stator cover scuff, will cover up with carbon fiber cover. Buy this bike, it's not a BMW tourer, if you realize that, perch up on top of it and test its limits, bet you $100 you don't find them. "I can't catch you on the straights, can't even come close to you in the corners, how many HP is that beast?" (friend that rides '06 GSXR 750. "What upgrades did you do, what map you runnin', did you fit an Ohlins suspension on your bike?" ride buddy that has '07 GSXR 600. R1 rider won't ride the tight twisty rode with me anymore. Ducati ST3 can't begin to take it down low like it can all the I-4's. LOVE......THIS......RIDE...... The valves will buzzz after 3000miles, the seat will delaminate a bit in the groove, if you're over 5'8" get the Triumph aero screen (better top end!! 165mph indicated best so far 1/2 mile run. Some O6's have primer over spray in the tank, get the dealership to clean it out under warranty. Lock Tite everything on this bike, everything you don't want to fall off!! Did I mention EVERYTHING!! Buy lots of cool Triumph gear and watch all the Jap bikes drool, crane their heads. I hardly ride my Yammy anymore, giving it to my son.
